Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) Training for Texans

The Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) training is a comprehensive program designed for individuals who are seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of entomology. This program is recognized by the Entomological Society of America (ESA), providing participants with a nationally recognized certification once the individual passes their certification exam. Attendees may register to take the exam here. Testing will be provided on the last day of training (April 08th, 2024) and is not required for attendees. Tests will be proctored by Bryant McDowell, bryant.mcdowell@ag.tamu.edu.

Course Overview:

  1. Fundamentals of Entomology: Learn about the basic principles of entomology, including insect anatomy, physiology, and taxonomy.
  2. Pest Identification: Gain expertise in identifying common pests in Texas, their life cycles, and their impact on human health and property.
  3. Pest Management: Understand the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), including prevention, monitoring, and control strategies.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be prepared to take the ACE examination. Successful candidates will earn their Associate Certified Entomologist certification, demonstrating their commitment to excellence in the field of entomology and pest management.
